Who we are

About The Prop Examiner

An independent review and comparison authority for proprietary-trading firms. We exist to separate what firms advertise from what we can actually verify — so you can choose with your eyes open.

Our remit

What we do

The Prop Examiner researches, documents, and compares prop-trading firms. For every firm we publish a dossier that lays out account sizes, profit splits, payouts, pricing, and — most importantly — the rules that actually bind a funded trader. We label every figure as advertised, verified, or unverified, and we link the primary source behind it.

We are not a prop firm. We do not run challenges, hold trader deposits, or operate any trading product. Firm names appear on this site for identification and comparison only.

No pay-to-rank

Independence

Our editorial ratings and verdicts are never for sale. No firm can pay to rank higher, to soften a con, or to remove a “verify before launch” flag. Where we hold an affiliate partnership we say so on the page and route the link through a redirect that applies any current discount at checkout — but a partnership never changes a rating, a verdict, or a firm’s rules. Every firm with a live affiliate gets the identical, clearly-labelled advertising treatment; there is no “flagship” firm.

For the full breakdown of how we earn and how that does (and does not) affect coverage, see our affiliate & independence disclosure.

Why trust us

Experience & expertise

Every dossier is researched from a firm’s own primary sources — homepages, rules pages, help centres, and scaling/payout documentation — accessed and dated on publication. We read the fine print most buyers skip: trailing vs static drawdown, consistency and best-day rules, profitable-day requirements, first-payout gates, and prohibited strategies. Where a figure cannot be confirmed from a primary source, we flag it rather than guess.

Our rule glossary, comparison tooling, and calculators exist so a trader can pressure-test a firm’s claims against their own strategy before paying for a challenge.

Method

How we research & rate

The mechanics of our research, verification, and the 0–5 scorecard live on a dedicated page so they are easy to audit and to cite.
